Question about disputing negative items on my credit report?

I%26#039;m writing letters to dispute negative items on my credit report. Do I have to write a letter for each negative item or can I write one letter per credit bureau detailing what is incorrect.

Question about disputing negative items on my credit report?

One thing you need to realize is if you dispute a collection account that is older, and hasn%26#039;t reported in quite a bit of time...you may stir them up again and cause them to start reporting again...which will negatively effect your credit score.

Also be very carefull about disputing too many items at once! Credit reporting agencies see this and may not take you serious!

Check your dates on all negative items...if that account has not reported in a long time or is several years old then don%26#039;t bother with it...unless you feel you can dispute it successfully...meaning it is actually an error and there%26#039;s no way they could have validation. Once they validate the account they will without a doubt start reporting it again and it will show up on your report as a recent negative and your score will drop! So be cautious of what you do, because it could hurt you more than help!
