Is checking account info allowed to be reported on a credit report?

I had some fraudulant checking activity a few years back. It was posted to my credit report and I had it removed by disputing it was a checking account. The bank reported it again a year later and my disputes are now coming back as verified information. Is there another way to get it off ?

The bank can only report derogatory information on your credit report if you had insufficient funds (unpaid checks) or fees not paid to them.

However, if there was fraudulent activity on your account and you put a fraud alert on your credit, that would cause it to show up. But a fraud alert on your credit will not be viewed as a bad thing.

Do you by any chance have CITIBank? If so, this bank is sooo messed up. Get rid of them if you have a checking account with them because these people will mess you up--if you have a checking account they will use your credit report side by side should you ever overdraft with them and they don%26#039;t care...many many people who have checkings with them complain about this

CALL YOUR BANK AND TELL THEM TO GET RID OF IT and dispute it again with the beaurus

Call the bank they are the only ones now who can take it off if the credit companies already say they have verified. Or just keep disputing it on line and eventually u might get lucky and they could lose or misplace and it gets deleted just for not verified in 30 days.

was the activity yours? if not you can write a dispute letter to all three credit agencies disputing the information. They have to respond in 30 days.

Your bank and the credit bureaus may be violating the Fair Credit Reporting Act.

If your checking account was overdrawn by fraudulent activity. The bank can not report this. It is illegal.

I would call and ask the bank to remove them from the credit bureaus and any other agencies that sent that info too. (Cheq systems, telecheck, credit bureaus, etc)

Be civil they record calls.

If they refuse to do it you can sue them for keeping incorrect information on your reports from any agency (Cheq systems, telecheck, credit bureaus, etc). but do not tell them you will sue them
