I'm finding item on my credit report over seven years old..What am I to do?

I have at least two items on my credit report that are seven years or older. What can I do to get them off? Are they suppose to purge after seven years or what?

If they are derogatory, dispute them with the credit bureaus that they show on they will be removed.
