If a there is something on your credit report with a 0 balance, should it be taken off?

I have an item on my credit report that says it was sold or transfered. The balance is $0. Can this be removed from my report. If so, how?

You can do online disputes w/ all 3 credit places and wait the 30 days to see if it can be verifed or not. If it%26#039;s the only bad thing I wouldn;t worry about it.

If that%26#039;s the only negative or unusual thing on the report, just ignore it. It shouldn%26#039;t effect your score. As long as there is no record of late payments, you will do ok.

No. Your credit report has everything, whether the account is paid off and closed, or just has a zero balance. It%26#039;s not bad, that%26#039;s supposed to be there.

Things will disappear from your credit report after 7 years, I think.

If it shows paid on time don%26#039;t worry, it actually helps your score to have older credit that was paid on time. One of your accounts must have been sold to another lender. This happens a lot with mortgages. I had one mortgage that was held by 4 different banks in 2 years. Also Bank of America bought Fleet Bank so all of their credit cards were %26quot;sold/transferred%26quot; to B of A.

If it is negative i.e. showing late payments then I would dispute the reporting.

Good Luck
