I keep seeing Tribute/FBOFD on my credit report w/no phone #. Who are these people who are ruining m

I have also looked on the internet and found several other people%26#039;s comments re: this Tribute/FBOFD that is located at 6 Concourse parkway ne FL2, Atlanta GA 30328 and again with no phone number available. It shows up as an account in good standing, closed/never late. I have never applied for an account with Tribute and have no idea how they got ahold of my personal information. Now, how the heck do I get them off my back and off my credit report. I am just baffled by their ability to enter my world twice without my permission, so I therefore have two different accounts in good standing. What is going on here?

Credit card companies merge and/or change names all the time....This could be the new name of a company that you previously had a card with. Closed/never late notations on your credit report are not negative. There%26#039;s no need to worry over this.

Contact Equifax immediately. They can explain what is going on.

You have the legal right to (and absolutely should) dispute anything on your credit file that is incorrect. You do that by sending a written request to the credit bureau (remember that there are THREE of them!) stating that the information is incorrect and advising that you want the information corrected. They then have 30 days to correct the error or to remove the reporting.

You can get your credit report for FREE (it%26#039;s the ONLY real free credit report out there --- check with Clarkhoward.com) at www.annualcreditreport.com

They%26#039;ll provide reports from all THREE reporting agencies so that you can make sure that all of the information out there is correct.

GOOD LUCK .... getting information corrected on your report is not always easy!

Hope this helps!!!

Maybe someone got a hold of your personal information and applied for a card. But, why in the heck woud they choose tribute when there are other cards that are way better. Maybe it%26#039;s a mistake someones social security number or name is close to yours, try disputing as many times as needed.
