After 7 years does your credit report reset in California?

I left the country only to relize that I was in an enormous ammount of debt like 4k. I don%26#039;t intend to pay the debts but I was wondering if it all just dissappears after 7 years or does the debt stay on the credit report?

It may fall off of the public record if there is no claim filed for the money or it remains until settled.

Im pretty sure it stays there as long as the person you didn%26#039;t pay keeps reporting it. I know that if you file bankurpt, then legally the debt has to %26quot;fall off%26quot; in 7 years.

It can perpetuate indefinitely. If the original debt is sold to a collection agency, it is then considerred a new debt, then years later that collection agency can sell it to another collection agency. In the meantime, you $4000 debt can become ten times that amount.

Of course you could just choose to not be a deadbeat loser and just pay your bills...I guess I%26#039;m not getting the 10 points for this one!

you, know, if you actually incurred these debts, the situation actually works out better for you in the end if you pay them.

Think about if from the other perspective. If you loaned someone 4K wouldnt you want / expect them to pay it back?

Your decision not to pay actually makes you a thief.

You stole their money and pretty much said F^%$ them...

Guess I wont be getting the 10 points either.
