How to errase Collection items on my credit report?

I signed a lease for an appartment and then I moved to my house and gave the appartment to my roomate. When I moved out he didn%26#039;t pay the bills and collection agency started calling me. I paid the bills but its on my records now. Can I get it off the credit report as I was never contacted. Am I still entitled to all the bills as I signed on for the lease? Any way to clear that out?

How to errase Collection items on my credit report?

You have a couple options. First would be to go through the debt validation/dispute process (known as the 1-2 punch) and generally that will solve the problem, especially if they are paid.

If that doesn%26#039;t work, you can try sending a %26quot;goodwill%26quot; letter asking them to remove the negative marks. Creditboards.com and CreditInfoCenter.com all have good information and sample letters you can use.

How to errase Collection items on my credit report?

You can dispute the record but if it turns out to be valid, it remains for seven years regardless. Get copies of all three credit reports and simply write to them to give your side of the story. If they cannot verify the information, it has to be removed. You have nothing to lose.

How to errase Collection items on my credit report?

Do you know if it%26#039;s actually hit your credit report? Most don%26#039;t. When you move from an apartment you need to switch your name from the utilities. If not, you are ultimately responsible. You can get a free credit report, and if they show up, dispute them. You may want to consider suing this individual in small claims court.

How to errase Collection items on my credit report?

sure just write a letter of dispute and send it to them and tell them you have paid it off and want it removed if not you can report it to the BBB or consumer fraud and file a complaint

How to errase Collection items on my credit report?

visit creditboards.com they will have sample letters and tell you how to go about the disputing process the best way. it is free. i have used i to get some items deleted.

You can also place a statement on the account explaining the situation. Something like %26quot;Apartment was sub-leased and I was not made aware of my tenant%26#039;s failure to pay until after this was reported. Account has been settled.%26quot;

How to errase Collection items on my credit report?

So, you moved out, left the bills in YOUR name and also never filed a change of address form?

Even if it was the companies job to inform you that your account is overdue (which it is not), they would send notice to the billing address which you provided. Did you ever bother to check the mail at your old apartment? Did you ever attempt to provide them with your new contact info? Did you ever check in to make sure your old roommate was paying the bill on time?

Clearly not. You abandoned your open accounts with these companies, which you had an obligation to pay, and did nothing to ensure that they would be paid the money owed to them. Doesn%26#039;t matter if you eventually paid them back....Your actions were still incredibly irresponsible, say a lot about your character, and that is why it%26#039;s going to stay on your credit report for the next 7 years.

Consider it a %26quot;life lesson%26quot;.

Is it truth that I can clean my credit report in 30 days? those dispute letters work? any sugestion?

is it legal to freeze my credit report? or can I change my SS number in order to start a new credit report file? I would really like to know what are my options.

Thanks for your help!

Is it truth that I can clean my credit report in 30 days? those dispute letters work? any sugestion?

you can remove negitive info that is incorrect. there is a chance to remove legitamte info if the creditor does not respond. you should negotiat payoffs and in that negotiation for a positive report to be made to bureas.

it takes more like 90 days the 30 day thing is a quick fix that may in the end simply reafirm debt

This e-book will help you understand your credit file, score and most importantly show you how to raise your score by %26quot;fixing%26quot; errors. the process is 3 steps and will take 60-90 days and you may have items removed and or payed off for far less than you thought. then you may be eligable for a credit card, car loan, or mortgage. estimated 70 percent of reports contain errors that might cause consumers to be denied credit. Fair Credit Reporting Act requires credit-reporting agencies to fix these mistakes.

Is it truth that I can clean my credit report in 30 days? those dispute letters work? any sugestion?

No you can not clean your credit report in thirty days. Nor can you freeze a credit report or change your social security number to start a new credit file (witness protection not included) Dispute letters do work if you disputing something you can legitimately dispute. See a credit counselor who can review your credit report with you and advise you on what to do.

Is it truth that I can clean my credit report in 30 days? those dispute letters work? any sugestion?

Take a look at this site and it%26#039;s various responses to your request. If anything can help this one can.

Is it truth that I can clean my credit report in 30 days? those dispute letters work? any sugestion?

Everything you mention is just plain impossible, and not even realistic if it were. If a dispute is sent to a credit bureau they have 30 days to investigate and attempt to verify the accuracy of the item being disputed. If they fail to verify it within that time then they have to remove it from your credit file. All of this will take longer than 30 days, so under the best of circumstances if every disputed item could not be verified you still wouldn%26#039;t make it.

How would you propose to %26quot;freeze%26quot; your credit report? There is no such thing. Information from creditors is updated monthly, and nobody is about to freeze anything. False Social Security numbers are just plain fraud. You don%26#039;t want to go that route.

There is a method you can use that may work to get even legitimate negative items off your credit report. I know this works because I have done it. If you ask a credit bureau how to get legitimate negative items off your credit report they will tell you it cannot be done, but they are wrong. I%26#039;ve done it.

What you do it to send a handwritten letter to the credit bureau (Experian, Equifax, or Trans Union) where the negative item shows up, and state quite bluntly that the negative item is not yours, it must belong to someone else with the same name, that you have never been involved with whatever it is, that this error is damaging your credit and you want it removed immediately. They will have to investigate it, and if they can%26#039;t get it verified, they will have to remove it. This might not work the first time, and it may take several attempts over a few months or even a year to get it off. But if you keep sending dispute letters sooner or later someone will not make the deadline, and off it comes. Just keep in mind that this is not a 30-day process at all, and it could even take a couple of years. I did this and over time negative items would disappear one by one.

This is not a question of disputing errors. This is a matter of getting legitimate black marks off. Send enough dispute letters and eventually these things will go away... maybe.

Is it truth that I can clean my credit report in 30 days? those dispute letters work? any sugestion?

are you on drugs or what? pay your bills man

Is it truth that I can clean my credit report in 30 days? those dispute letters work? any sugestion?

It cracks me up the people who suggest to people with credit problems to pay their bills. I guess you have never had any hardships in life. I hope you don%26#039;t, you would not know how to handle them.

One more thing if you had a bill sent to you and it was not your bill would you pay it? So why is it wrong to dispute wrong entries on your credit report???

Is it truth that I can clean my credit report in 30 days? those dispute letters work? any sugestion?

Yes you can can dispute accounts and that helps you clear your credit of deragatory information, but you are not able to get a new social security number, or freeze your report. I have worked with a credit company. So I am familiar with the consumer protection laws. If you have any questions or need any help in the future e-mail me at loancreditsolutions@yahoo.com

Is it truth that I can clean my credit report in 30 days? those dispute letters work? any sugestion?

1. It will take more than 30 days to clear up your credit.

2. Some states have laws which allow you to have more control over when your credit report is pulled this is refereed to as freezing your report. However, you will have to allow potential creditors to view it along with potential employers and others that require viewing it before doing business with you.

3. You cannot change your SSN.

Now For the good news:

1.You can work at clearing your credit and do it yourself I recommend you purchase an inexpensive credit repair kit. You can find them at office supply stores along with self help wills and other self help legal forms. Also, you can find them on-line. These have easy to follow instructions are informative and include form letters you can personalize for your use.

2. There are better sources of information then we here go to the FTC consumer web site.

3. Dispute procedures are helpful when done lawfully. The FTC site and the credit repair kits will help with this.

4. You have the right to add remarks to your credit report. See FTC site for details

Is it truth that I can clean my credit report in 30 days? those dispute letters work? any sugestion?

No. They are scams. If you owe the debt and cannot pay, file bankrupt as a last resort. Try credit counseling first. I would suggest that you listen to Suzi Orman. You can email her and she will answer your questions and tell you what you need to do. She is taking live calls on June 3rd........ http://www.suzeorman.com/index.cfm

CLOSED account still showing on credit report...?

Is there a letter I can write?? OR something i can do? I have an account that has been closed over 2 years still showing on my credit report.............it doesnt have the greatest history either....... can u HELP PLEASE!!!!!!!!!!

CLOSED account still showing on credit report...?

as far as i know companies can hold personal data and details of your credit for 5 years and they can pass it on to others but after 5 years its illegal to do so

CLOSED account still showing on credit report...?

The credit agency does not have to take this closed account of your report and most likely they wont otherwise everyone with poor reporting would just close their accounts and have %26#039;instant%26#039; good credit.

You CAN write a letter explaining why the history on that account was not the greatest. If you lost your job or had a child during that time, that might be worthy of noting. When someone makes an entry into your credit history your letter will be sent with what they send to the person that is taking the peek.

Good luck to you

CLOSED account still showing on credit report...?

check out www.equifax.com., www.experian.com...they are both credit report sites that will offer you some insight on how to get it removed....

CLOSED account still showing on credit report...?

Closed accounts are bad news. Not only do they stay, but the actual closing of any account is considered a negative.

CLOSED account still showing on credit report...?

A closed account is not taken off your credit report. A credit report is a record of your history of credit usage. Even if you closed an account, it is still part of your history. I believe accounts will be factored into your score for up to 10 years.

CLOSED account still showing on credit report...?

Your credit report is about credit history-- your behavior over time. Accounts, even closed, are meant to stay on your report for 7 years. You can intiate a dispute with the bureaus and hope you get lucky and get it deleted (it happens) but it is SUPPOSED to stay on there for another 5 years.

And this goes for %26quot;Both accounts%26quot;-- if it was sold to another collection company (or whatever) then it is legitimate that its on your report twice-- the first company took a loss and the second company is still trying to recover the money (or did, if you paid it.)

It%26#039;s just how it works. This is why being responsible with your credit is SO important-- everything you do today effects you for 7 years.

CLOSED account still showing on credit report...?

Did THEY close it or did you? If they did, it can stay for 5 years. As for it being there twice, write to the reporting agency, and be prepared to show proof that it is the same debt because they might ask. It is very common to have errors like that on your credit report, but the most common are clerical errors such as misspelled names. It is worth a shot to try to remove one of the listings. And be sure to keep a copy of all the things you send to the agency while attempting to remove it.

Good luck!

Getting a copy of my credit report?

I need to get a copy of my credit report ASAP. However, I dont want to do it online. I heard someone say you can get them at a bank is that true? If not, where can you get one? I don%26#039;t mind having to pay for it!!

Getting a copy of my credit report?

You can go to a local real estate office and ask a loan officer to qualify you for a mortgage. Request a copy while you are there. it will have all 3 scores and be comprehensive. They don%26#039;t charge.

Getting a copy of my credit report?

Although you might not want to do it online, most online places are secure and safe and you will get it instantly. Some banks offer credit checks, but not all. You would have to check with your local bank to find out if they do. Other then that, the only other places would be online.

Getting a copy of my credit report?

Go to http://www.annualcreditreport.com they can mail it to you if you really want them to.

Getting a copy of my credit report?

The only place you can get all 3 of your credit reports for free is at www.annualcreditreport.com. You can see your credit scores at a bank when you apply for a loan but you shouldn%26#039;t apply just for that.

Where To Get Annual Free Credit Report?

I think we閳ユ獧e allowed to get one once a year 閳?is that true?

If so where exactly can I get an annual credit report for free?

Thanks.

Where To Get Annual Free Credit Report?

The site below is one that can help you get your credit report 100% free.

It is honestly the best way I found.

It is also the fastest.

1) Go to the link below and click %26quot;%26quot;Get My Free Credit Scrore%26quot;%26quot;enter your info:

2) Fill out your info

3) Choose a password (and username)

4) Check your credit report, then log in and cancel.

Doing that, you%26#039;ve gotten your credit report for FRE!

Even though they ask, they do NOT charge your credit card at all. So after you see your report and get a copy, simply click %26quot;%26quot;cancel%26quot;%26quot; and you%26#039;ve gotten it for free.

It%26#039;s that easy, and highly reliable. I got my credit report this way and know others who have too:

Trust me it does work.

Where To Get Annual Free Credit Report?

Yes you can get your credit report for free once a year. To find out how: http://www.squidoo.com/annual_... another way to get it for free is if you%26#039;ve had an adverse action notice: http://www.creditcardassociate... Report It

Where To Get Annual Free Credit Report?

Bunk, these are not free, there is always a catch. Beware so you do NOT get snared into this trap.

Where To Get Annual Free Credit Report?

You get it at https://www.annualcreditreport.com/cra/i... and you can get it three times a year if you ask only one of the reporting agencies for a report every four months.

If you go directly to the site of the three agencies: Experian, Equifax, or TransUnion, they will charge for the report. Also, when you ask for your free report, they will suggest you buy your credit score from them. The free report does not include your credit score. You have to pay for that, but you don%26#039;t really need it.

How long will it take to get off my credit report?

For the last 2 1/2 years i have been getting small loans out with a finance company to establish some credit. I have had 3 of them and I am working on paying my 4th one off. When i looked at my credit report the other 3 were reported as closed.it is listed under revolving accounts, but they all have $0 balances. how long do these stay on your report?

How long will it take to get off my credit report?

7 years for debts other than bankruptcy which stays for 10 years.

You have to keep checking though. I applied for a mortgage and a lawsuit which had occured almost 20 years before it showed up. It also showed me as the defendant when I was

the president of a defendant corporation. It did not mention that we won the lawsuit.

I had to do a lot of explaining and letter writing.

How long will it take to get off my credit report?

Usually stuff falls off after 5-7 years

How long will it take to get off my credit report?

Accounts with %26quot;good%26quot; standing can stay on for 10 years, and %26quot;bad%26quot; accounts fall off after 7 years. I watch a lot of Suze Orman. God Bless!

After 7 years does your credit report reset in California?

I left the country only to relize that I was in an enormous ammount of debt like 4k. I don%26#039;t intend to pay the debts but I was wondering if it all just dissappears after 7 years or does the debt stay on the credit report?

After 7 years does your credit report reset in California?

It may fall off of the public record if there is no claim filed for the money or it remains until settled.

After 7 years does your credit report reset in California?

Im pretty sure it stays there as long as the person you didn%26#039;t pay keeps reporting it. I know that if you file bankurpt, then legally the debt has to %26quot;fall off%26quot; in 7 years.

After 7 years does your credit report reset in California?

It can perpetuate indefinitely. If the original debt is sold to a collection agency, it is then considerred a new debt, then years later that collection agency can sell it to another collection agency. In the meantime, you $4000 debt can become ten times that amount.

Of course you could just choose to not be a deadbeat loser and just pay your bills...I guess I%26#039;m not getting the 10 points for this one!

After 7 years does your credit report reset in California?

you, know, if you actually incurred these debts, the situation actually works out better for you in the end if you pay them.

Think about if from the other perspective. If you loaned someone 4K wouldnt you want / expect them to pay it back?

Your decision not to pay actually makes you a thief.

You stole their money and pretty much said F^%$ them...

Guess I wont be getting the 10 points either.

Is it possible to delete collections account from my credit report?

i had 4 credit cards, didnt paid them for 6 months, eventually they went into collection 4 months ago. i want to pay them off. whats the best way to pay them and getting the best score in my credit report or completely deleted from my credit report?

Is it possible to delete collections account from my credit report?

To boost your credit score:

The first thing you will need to do is call the three major credit reporting agencies and request a free copy of your credit report.

www.equifax.com

www.experian.com

www.transunion.com

Then once you get those in the mail (7-10 days) there will be a dispute form attached to the reports. Fill those out for every negative account on your report regardless. Fax, mail go online whatever it takes to get those submitted as quickly as possible. Then those companies must answer your dispute within 30 days or it is removed from your credit report completely. So that will eliminate some things, hopefully.

Then make sure you pay all your revolving accounts to below 50% of your credit limits.

Make sure that you make all your payments no more than 20 days from the date it is due.

Good Luck!

Is it possible to delete collections account from my credit report?

Call the collection agencies and ask for a pay to delete. If they agree to delete the item from all three credit bureaus, GET IT IN WRITING!!!!!

Is it possible to delete collections account from my credit report?

Sorry, but they%26#039;ll be on your credit report for 7 years. It would be a good idea to make arrangements to pay them or your wages can be garnished. If you can%26#039;t afford to pay them, you can get in touch with a credit counseling agency, such as debt free, and they can possibly get your interest reduced or eliminated and you%26#039;ll have one payment rather than 4. good luck!

Is it possible to delete collections account from my credit report?

Well, first you have to pay them off, see if you can get some help from card company to stop adding interest on them, try Consumer Credit Counseling , It%26#039;s free, and possibly they can help get you on track. It will take awhile to prove yourself. but probably not as long as a bankruptcy would. Doesn%26#039;t happen over night.

Is it possible to delete collections account from my credit report?

I%26#039;d advise avoiding the collection agencies and deal directly with the original creditors, but with the collection agencies you should put in a letter request pay to delete and only send payments once they signed the letter and agree. If not return to the original creditors and work out a payment plan. Most collections if you can pay in full are more willing to honor a pay to delete action. If your funding is not working to pay anything in full then you might consider consolidation (not really informed on that one). Your actions are fairly new since the debt is basically a year old. Maybe explain why you didn%26#039;t make any payments to collections or credit bureau so you can explain it to potential new creditors. Otherwise it will haunt you for seven years and on once you start making payments. Good luck.

Is it possible to delete collections account from my credit report?

u can try.. I did it and I got 3 of of 4 things deleted

Is it possible to delete collections account from my credit report?

First call your creditors and see if you can work out some sort of settlement with them. Get this all IN WRITING from them before you send them any money. When you do pay them, pay only by money order or cashiers check sent via certified mail.

After you talk to each creditor, you can begin using a method that many financial advisors recommend, something often referred to as the %26quot;debt snowball.%26quot;

The basic steps in the debt snowball method are as follows:

1. List all debts in ascending order from smallest balance to largest. This is the method%26#039;s most distinctive feature, in that the order is determined by amount owed, not the rate of interest charged. However, if two debts are very close in amount owed, then the debt with the higher interest rate would be moved above in the list.

2. Commit to pay the minimum payment on every debt.

3. Determine how much extra can be applied towards the smallest debt.

4. Pay the minimum payment plus the extra amount towards that smallest debt until it is paid off.

5. Then, add the old minimum payment from the first debt to the extra amount, and apply the new sum to the second smallest debt.

6. Repeat until all debts are paid in full.

Is it possible to delete collections account from my credit report?

Ask your creditors about the program to pay to delete, and follow through. I would also recommend Lexington Law Firm as they have a credit repair program and I know someone that there score went up over 200 points in six months.

Is it possible to delete collections account from my credit report?

Try Money Management International. It is a credit counseling company. It%26#039;s working for us.

Is it possible to delete collections account from my credit report?

What you have to do every month is pay off all of your balances. Or if you can%26#039;t do that at least make a payment every month. Also remember to pay more than the minimum payment every month. That way you can pay off all of your balances. And don%26#039;t skip making payments. As i%26#039;m sure you now know that can get you into alot of trouble.

When an employers pulls your credit, how does it show your your credit report?

When an employer pulls your credit for a background check, how does it show on your credit report. Does it show as an inquiry? Does it lower your credit score?

When an employers pulls your credit, how does it show your your credit report?

Unfortunately, all inquiries into your credit history effects your credit history. The report we receive is exactly the same that you would receive when you request a copy.

Does the current mortgage show up in the credit report ?

I live in a house mortgaged at 140 K but its kindda small and me and my wife want to book a bigger house. The bigger house would be around 400 K. What i want to do is to book a bigger house and still keep living in my current house so by the time the bigger house is ready, i can sell my current house and move into a bigger one. To book a new house i%26#039;ll have to have the mortgage approved but with my current house still with me, i may not get approved for a bigger mortgage. Some one told me that if i don%26#039;t tell the bank that i own a house they can never know about it because it doesn%26#039;t show up in the credit report. If it really doesn%26#039;t show up in the credit report, then i can go to a bank and ask for a bigger mortgage by not telling them about my current mortgage.

Does the current mortgage show up in the credit report ?

oh, mortgages show up, no question! And the new lender would be particularly interested in it%26#039;s history, since they would be a mortgage too...

but also, lenders understand your situation, and as long as you have good credit, and maybe a little cash reserves, you can probably get what you need by being honest %26amp; upfront about the entire situation.

Does the current mortgage show up in the credit report ?

it shows up i just bought a car and my mortage showed up on my credit report

Does the current mortgage show up in the credit report ?

it shows up...whoever told you it didn%26#039;t was wrong....just take into account it will take you longer to sell your home nowadays....so maybe you should think of renting it out or leasing it once you move into your bigger home ..in case the house doesn%26#039;t sell right away......

Does the current mortgage show up in the credit report ?

Of course a mortgage shows up! You can explain to the lender/broker that you will be selling the old house as soon as you can get into the new house. Lenders and brokers usually take that into account when making their decision.

In general, it%26#039;s not a good idea to lie, even by omission to a lender/broker. Especially on such a large loan. Its in your best interest, as well as their%26#039;s for everyone to have all cards on the table.

Does the current mortgage show up in the credit report ?

Your current mortgage will show up on your credit, however, you may be approved for a larger second mortage becasue of your current mortgage on your credit report. Always be honest and a mortgage broker can work with you to get you the best deal possible. It is actually a good idea what you are wanting to do. If you would like a mortgage broker to help you make the way, email me, I can help! lwilson.firstpriorityfunding@comcast.net

The federal %26quot;Fair Credit Reporting Act%26quot; permits a creditor to report derogatory information for up to 7 years.

How long does a bad credit card stay on my credit report?

Seven years is the %26quot;canned%26quot; answer for this question. The key is that the entry remains for seven years after the first 90-days form when the creditor first reported the derogatory history. The real answer is seven years and 90-days from the first derogatory entry.

How do strange things get on one's credit report?

My sister tried to apply for a loan and the bank told her to verify her address. However, she managed to get a free credit report and it listed strange addresses that she never lived there. so, how did those places get on her credit report if she never lived in those address listed?

How do strange things get on one%26#039;s credit report?

Not sure, however she should check all 3 of her reports.

Everyone is entitled to one free report from each of the 3 agencies per year.

She can get them free here...

There are instructions on each one on how to dispute errors.

could be her hubbys people family members like when you use someone as a reference for credit..there are many reasons..alot of times they are work addresses..basically any address that was on the application when she requested credit

How do strange things get on one%26#039;s credit report?

If she has an ex and they had credit together that is one way (on my husbands report his ex wife%26#039;s address is listed, but he never lived at that address). Another way is possible identity theaft. She should go over her credit report to make sure there are no discrepancies. Another way is someone used her as a refrence and their address wound up on her report. Or a creditor had the wrong address on file. She should dispute the information. I know when you are online and trying to look at your credit report it sometimes asks you to %26quot;verify information on your report%26quot; so it might ask her to verify the dates she lived at the address and if it isn%26#039;t her address she would never know!

How do strange things get on one%26#039;s credit report?

Some one appiled for credit uner her name using a different address.

She needs to contact the credit agency that furnished the report to dispute the address so an investigation is done and the address is removed. She might want to add a fraud alert.

Some one in Seattle, WA ( I live in California) got a credit card in my name. I did not find out until the ompany was calling me 5 missed payments.

How do strange things get on one%26#039;s credit report?

I%26#039;ve had incorrect addresses reported on my credit report as well. However, they were not %26quot;strange%26quot; and I could track them to places and people I%26#039;m connected to such as my x-husband%26#039;s home--an address where I have never lived. I%26#039;m sure that it is unsettling to discover inaccurate information on your credit file. Regardless of how they got there, it is important to have them removed from all three reporting agencies, Transunion, Equifax, Experian. Consider requesting that ALL addresses but your current address be removed from their files. Afterall where you have lived is personal information and should be up to you who you disclose this information to.

How can I dispute my credit report and the item doesnot reappear?

i am tryiing to fix my credit report and it is hard, I need to know the laws so that I can really get down with it and straighten it out, so many people want to charge me this amount and that amount but I can read so I can this on my own, may take a little bit of time but I can and will do it

How can I dispute my credit report and the item doesnot reappear?

You can challenge items that appear on your credit report by disputing it with the credit reporting agency. Go on-line to a credit reporting agency like Experian or TransUnion. You will have to pay to get your credit report. If there are items that you believe should not be there, you can click the %26quot;dispute%26quot; icon if you are on the internet. Or, if you call them you can dispute it that way. The credit reporting agency then has to investigate the inaccuracy. If the company that says you have bad credit with them is unable to provide the credit reporting agency with any support for its report, then the credit reporting agency must delete the negative item.

When disputing items on my credit report do the buerus need the full acct #?

Because the credit report I have for all 3 of the buerus have 4 stars **** at the end of the acct #. Whill tehy know what to take off?

When disputing items on my credit report do the buerus need the full acct #?

If you are disputing what is on your report you will need to contact them with your name, address and usually there is an ID number for the credit bureau who did the report. You should include that along with the partial acct information. If the information is verfied then it won%26#039;t be deleted, if it isn%26#039;t verfied then it will be deleted.

When disputing items on my credit report do the buerus need the full acct #?

They will need your full name, address and social security number.

Will my Repo on my credit report go away?

If i had repo a car and they auctioned it, and what i owe left of it is still 6,000, if I was able to pay that off, will I still see repossion on my credit report ?

Will my Repo on my credit report go away?

Yes you will.

The repossession will show on your credit report for 7-years from the date of first delinquency weather you pay it or not.

It will look a whole lot better if you pay it.

Will my Repo on my credit report go away?

Yes the repo will still show and it will show that you paid off the balance. This will eventually clear but it will be a while.

Will my Repo on my credit report go away?

Yes, it will show on your credit report, but if you%26#039;ve paid it, it should show as paid. It%26#039;s a strike against your credit, just because you%26#039;ve settled it later doesn%26#039;t mean they are just going to erase it. When they reposses something it%26#039;s because you couldn%26#039;t pay and future lenders will want to see that.

Will my Repo on my credit report go away?

IT reports while you are paying the debt, make shure you pay your payments ONTIME... that helps boost your score.

When the debt is satisfied , it usually clears in about 7 years.

(From the final payment date) This is because :

1. That is used to establish a HISTORY for you.

2. Lenders like to see how quickly you can pay back ammounts owed or lended to you.

It is impotant to remember that your FICO is made up of a percantage of things.. so try to boost your score!

35% = Making ONTIME payments, even if it is the MINNIUM!

Mail it in a week early!

30%= debt ( monies charged, loans..) VS. What amount of credit is actually available to you. The smaller debt and bigger credit is what you are aiming for.

15%= Length of credit history. Having accounts open years ago, actually helps sometimes. Unpaid ones could potentially help also, it is establishing how long you have been around , getting credit. Shows them you have a history. So dont go cancelling older cards... that would erase some of your history , actually damaging your score.

10% = New accounts and inquires on your credit.

Obviously more inquiries lowers your score.

10% A good mix or balance on the types of loans and credit you have. ( RE: Home , car, credit, departmant store)

Will my Repo on my credit report go away?

All credit agencies, equifax, trans union, etc, keep a 3 year history of your credit. The exception is a bankruptcy, which will appear for 7 yrs. The repossesion will appear for 3 years AFTER the balance has been paid, or 3 years after it is written off by the creditor that you owe.

Will my Repo on my credit report go away?

If you pay off the balance remaining you can have your report reflect that. The repo will show up for around 7 years. After you pay off the balance, send proof of your payment to the credit agencies who disclose it. This will update the account information. Since you paid the debt, after a few years you can dispute the record and if the lender doesn%26#039;t respond in time to the credit agency it will be removed. Car repos are bad!

Will my Repo on my credit report go away?

Of course you will...for the next 7 years.

Can the creditor or collection agency remove a collection account from my credit report? How to conv

I graduated and began a new job. I went to India for 6 months. While i was away, I recieved a hospital bill. When I returned, I discovered it had been sent to collections. I called the hospital and paid the bill. I moved across the country (east to west coast). I called the collection agency verify that it had been marked as paid. I now have one collection account on my credit report marked as paid. I have been turned down for certain benefits because of this recent collection account being on my credit report. I tried filing a dispute online w/ equifax (the CRA reporting the collection account). Because of my recent changes in address, the online/phone methods fail to verify me, so i cannot order my credit report. Now I am supposed to mail in several pieces of POA to validate my new address. Before i do this, is it possible for the creditor or the collection agency to remove the account from my record? If so, i%26#039;d like to try it b/c at least i can talk to someone.

Can the creditor or collection agency remove a collection account from my credit report? How to convince?

With medical accounts, you have rights under HIPAA.

If you had paid the collection agency, your HIPAA rights would have been waived.

Since you had paid the medical provider, the medical provider should recall the account from the collection agency and should inform the collection agency to delete everything in their files concerning the account and to remove it from your reports.

The medical provider cannot remove the collection agency%26#039;s trade line themselves, but they can make the collection agency remove it.

Contact the medical provider and discuss the issue with them.

Can the creditor or collection agency remove a collection account from my credit report? How to convince?

From what I know, hospital bills cannot be factored in your credit report score and they are not even supposed to be on there. But, whenever you are dealing with credit companies, debt collection agencies, etc. get names, get receipts, get every bit of information that you can get and throw nothing away. When it comes to removing anything off of your credit report, even if it is an error, it takes extensive follow up,phone calls and letters to get them removed.It%26#039;s not easy.

Can the creditor or collection agency remove a collection account from my credit report? How to convince?

They can remove information, just as they can add a debt. If you have not paid you might have had some leverage, but since it is paid they may not do anything for you.

The best thing to do is call the collection agency up and be very nice. You will probably have to talk to a manager and not just one of the low level people. Explain your situation and see if they will be willing to remove the information. If they do it they may charge you a fee for this, it should be minimal and just enough to cover any costs they would have.

I don%26#039;t think the dispute will work because it was a vaild debt(regardless of the reason). So if they verify it with the collection agency the agency will say yes it is valid and it you paid it. If all else fails, you can add a consumer comment of 100 words or less to the credit report explaining the circumstances. It will not effect any automatic scoring, but it will show up when people manually review your report.

Can the creditor or collection agency remove a collection account from my credit report? How to convince?

OC1999 has some good advice for starters.

Echo is extremely knowledgeable on how credit reporting and the HIPAA tie together. I haven%26#039;t done enough research on it, but I do trust Echo%26#039;s opinion.

That said...if true...can I assume that the collection agency no longer has records of your debt?

Let%26#039;s back up one second though, and explain the process of getting a negative item removed from your report. It%26#039;s all described in the Fair Credit Reporting Act.

There are only two ways you can get a negative item removed from your report.

1) The creditor must remove it

2) The creditor fails to respond to a dispute investigation.

I think your plan is to start with #2. You need to get your credit report(s). File a dispute. The Credit Reporting Agency (CA) will contact the collection agency ask if the debt is accurate. Your hope is that they either don%26#039;t mess with looking into it, or may not be able to locate the records (see Echo%26#039;s answer).

If they do %26quot;verify%26quot; the debt, you are going to have a hard time. Normally, my advice is to never pay a debt unless the creditor agrees IN WRITING to delete the entry. Since you paid the debt, you lost any leverage you have. Your only hope now is to suck up to them, hope that you find a nice and friendly collection agent (good luck!) who will look over your list of reasons and feel sorry for you.

Now, if this doesn%26#039;t work, you will have to live with it for a while. Start building your credit rating back up. See if you can get another credit card. Maybe someone can co-sign on a small loan for you.

Visit a site called http://www.lifeafterbankruptcy.com for some other ideas on improving your credit.

Good luck.

Can the creditor or collection agency remove a collection account from my credit report? How to convince?

A collection agency can remove or change reported information on your CR. This is much easier to do if you negotiate this before settling. Since you have already paid the account, they will only do it if they are decent folks to deal with. You might get lucky with that. At least they should delete you from their files so that any CRA cannot verify the information.

You can always write the bureaus and dispute iformation on your report. I have attached a form letter for this purpose. All you need is a copy of your current utility bill for address verification. Always include your SS # @ DOB.

Paid off accounts are more likely to be deleted from your report as there is no economic reason for collectors to keep that information on file. Remember, it is the credit bureaus responsability to verify (within thirty days) that all information on your report is accurate.

What is Date Updated on credit report??

I asked a question and with the response, now I am a little confused. On my credit report from transunion it has Date Updated 10/2002 what does that mean exactly, It still states that the estimated date to come off is 2009....I was just wondering because I have one that is from 2001 and has 06/2006 as the date updated..

What is Date Updated on credit report??

It means that the creditor last reported to Trans Union on that date. The estimated date for it to come off is 7 years later for that account.

Here is a list of how long things stay on your report:

Delinquencies: (30 - 180 days late) Remain 7 years from the date of the initial missed payment.

Collection accounts: Remain 7 years from the date of the initial missed payment that led to the collection (the original delinquency date). When a collection account is paid in full, it will be marked %26quot;paid collection%26quot; on the credit report.

Charged-off accounts: Remain 7 years from the date of the initial missed payment that led to the charge off (the original delinquency date), even if payments are later made on the charged-off account.

Closed accounts: Closed accounts are accounts that are no longer available for further use. Closed accounts may or may not have a zero balance. Closed accounts with delinquencies remain 7 years from the date they are reported closed, whether closed by the creditor or by the consumer. Positive closed accounts remain at least 10 years.

Lost credit card: If there are no delinquencies, credit cards that are reported lost will continue to be listed for 2 years from the date the card is reported lost. Delinquent payments that occurred before the card was lost are reported for seven years.

Bankruptcy: Chapters 7, 11, and 12 remain for 10 years from the filing date. Chapter 13 remains 7 years from the filing date. Accounts included in bankruptcy remain 7 years from the date they were reported as included in the bankruptcy.

Judgements: (child support, civil %26amp; small claims) Remain 7 years from the date the judgment is filed.

Tax Liens: (cty, county, state, and federal) Unpaid tax liens remain 15 years from the filing date. Paid tax liens remain 7 years from the paid date of the lien.

Inquiries: Remain for 2 years, with those in the last 6 months usually given the most consideration.

Positive open credit information remains indefinitely and paid positive accounts remain 10 years.

%26quot;How Can I Get An Annual Free Credit Report?

By Dean Iggo

Obtaining an annual free credit report can keep you on top of your credit and allows you to check if there are any errors on your credit report. By receiving a credit report annually you can keep one step ahead in making sure there are no problems with your credit score.

There are three big firms that are nationally operated which you can receive an annual free credit report The 閳ユ競ig three閳?are: Equifax, TRW, and Trans Union Corporation. You can contact any of these credit bureaus to receive an annual free credit report. You can also check your local agencies as well but they generally charge a fee for this service.

The free credit reports will not automatically be sent out to you as the consumers need to request getting a report one of the following ways. You can go to www.annualcreditreport.com and obtain a credit report. This is the only authorized source for credit reports where customers can access their information online. This service is free of charge.

You can also call 877-322-8228 to receive a free credit report. The last thing you can do is fill out completely the form on the back of the Annual Credit Report Request brochure and then mail it to: Annual Credit Report Request Service, P.O. Make sure that you go through the centralized agency as by obtaining your report from other agencies you will not receive an annual free credit report but you will be charged for their credit services.

It does not take much time or effort to receive an annual free credit report. It is an important document as it could have ramifications to your employment, loan applications, and benefits. Considering the service is free there is no reason not to check up on your credit score to see if it can be improved or there are errors which need to be addressed. Checking on your credit should be an annual ritual as it is more important to know the status of your credit that the score that it holds. %26quot;

A bank used my social security number for a loan on a car which was reposessed. This shows on my credit report when I was 15yrs old. Now I have bad credit, that isn%26#039;t even mine. How small of an amount can be placed on your credit report?

I have a collection agency contacting me for a $35 debt for lab work (the collection agency is CCS, Credit Collection Services) and I%26#039;m going to request debt validation because I haven%26#039;t had lab work done in a long, long time and I go to the lab that my insurance requires (Qwest Diagnostics). That is also the lab my PCP uses, so I don%26#039;t know how I owe Lab Corp anything. Anyway, can this credit agency place the $35 I owe on my credit report as a delinquent account?

How small of an amount can be placed on your credit report?

Yes it is true that they can report a dollar if they wanted to and by them reporting a negative account it can cost you up to 50 POINTS !!! Medical Bills can take up to two years to appear on your credit report or even in your mail box because physicians have 2 years to file a claim (a claim is the bill your produced when you had services and they submit it to your insurance company). Thats why sometimes we get medical bills and have no clue why or when they were from. If you dispute the account within 30 of receiving the note they are not allowed by law to report you until the validation process is complete. For $35 dollars, I would pay it just to make sure it does not DROP my Credit Score...and wait for the refund later..... Christine

How small of an amount can be placed on your credit report?

You can be reported for any amount that you owe.

How small of an amount can be placed on your credit report?

They can report you for $1.

It sounds like either your insurance did not cover something you expected or they just tried to attach your name to another persons bill.

The best thing to do is what you said and request debt validation. Just when you do be sure to send it by Certified Mail with Return Receipt Requested(Green Card). This way you have proof that you sent it. If they can not validate it after 30 days you can have it removed from your credit report.

How small of an amount can be placed on your credit report?

Both previous answers are correct.

How small of an amount can be placed on your credit report?

balance amount is not relevant ,as little as they want depending on company type and whether or not they subcribe to a regualted credit auditor for example Lloyds and hsbc don%26#039;t register all credit with experian and/or equifax because they use an internal sourcing method Argos another company that doesn;t register their lending.

If this company is harrasing you for money dont take numbers to call/contact from the information given by this company as it may be a huge scam that will then say $35.00 oh we meant $35000.00 get the info indepenantly before doing anything else, and don%26#039;t let them intimidate you.

How small of an amount can be placed on your credit report?

based upon your situation,I think you should find something useful here.http://creditreport.online-helper.info/c...

If there is accurate info on the credit report, someone says they still remove it? What's the d

Is this person likely wrong or could they really have removed accurate information on their credit report by writing letters?

If there is accurate info on the credit report, someone says they still remove it? What%26#039;s the deal law wise ?

It is possible if the negative entry has been asked to be verified by the debtor and no response was made by the collection agency. Sometimes, junk debt buyers will re date a debt and when the CRA verifies this fact, they will remove the item.

Avoid credit repair agencies that charge a fee to improve your FICO score by removing negative, but accurate, information from your credit reports. No one can force credit reporting agencies or lenders to remove accurate information from a credit report. Credit repair companies often take your money without delivering what they promise, or provide only temporary improvements of your score, sometimes by removing accurate information that will reappear later.

If there is accurate info on the credit report, someone says they still remove it? What%26#039;s the deal law wise ?

You can dispute inaccurate information. But don%26#039;t expect accurate information to be removed, because they ask the creditor (unless the creditor fails to respond).

If there is accurate info on the credit report, someone says they still remove it? What%26#039;s the deal law wise ?

If something has been reported by a company and the identifying info matches, it won%26#039;t be removed if it is a reportable item unless they can get the company doing the reporting to remove it. Not likely. My first credit report I had 4 child support judgements and alimony and other stuff due to a very common name--just called the credit bureau and she removed it all since it was name only, no SS# to prove it was mine. But I could not remove anything else.

If there is accurate info on the credit report, someone says they still remove it? What%26#039;s the deal law wise ?

That is not correct. Beware of people charging money to %26quot;repair your credit%26quot;, if you owe it and the creditor can verify it then it will remain or if temporarily removed will be put right back on. There is a website that governs these credit issues. It will help you do a dispute yourself if you need to. Hope it helps

If there is accurate info on the credit report, someone says they still remove it? What%26#039;s the deal law wise ?

Some repair companies use the tactic of sending a mass off letters to the credit reporting agencies %26quot;disputing%26quot; every derogatory item, hoping that some of the companies will not confirm within the time required and the agency will then remove the items. The repair company then claims credit for cleaning up your report.

When they are done they can leave you with some problems.

First, the agencies are aware of this tactic and may refuse to process your dispute letters on the grounds that there is no real dispute. This can cause problems later when there is an actual error that you want to dispute. Your account will have been branded as a frivolous disputer.

Second, you might end up without a score at all. Try and get a loan with no score. (The creditor%26#039;s request will return the message %26quot;multiple tradelines in dispute - unable to process%26quot;.)

If there is accurate info on the credit report, someone says they still remove it? What%26#039;s the deal law wise ?

Creditors can remove listings at their discretion. The law simply says they must be %26quot;fair and accurate.%26quot;

When I worked for Macy%26#039;s Credit, we would quite often remove negative listings for customers as a courtesy.

If there is accurate info on the credit report, someone says they still remove it? What%26#039;s the deal law wise ?

It Sounds like you are really screwed up by this problem. Hope you could get good luck here.http://creditreport.expertsupport.info/f...

Paying off a debt in collections on credit report...please read...?

I have one negative thing left on my credit report. It is for about $1700 but they have tacked on $800 in interest. So I now owe about $2500. Is there any way I can get out of paying the interest and just pay the actual debt?

I live in California...don%26#039;t know if that would help with answering. Thank you in advance for your answers.

Paying off a debt in collections on credit report...please read...?

It depends, the highest interest rate that is allowed in California is 10 percent. But there are exceptions, such as credit cards that are issued by national banks they are exempt. So they can charge more.

Also you do have some say what can go and what can%26#039;t appear on your credit report.

Interest rate laws and Credit Reports are too complicated for most people, you should look at a consumer aid organizations website in your State to see if they can give your any help. You should be able to, but every State is different as to how it has to be done.

Paying off a debt in collections on credit report...please read...?

Call them. If you tell them that you can pay off the original loan amount in one lump sum, they may do away with the interest. But, if you are looking to make payments, don%26#039;t bet on it. But, you won%26#039;t know unless you call them.

Paying off a debt in collections on credit report...please read...?

Call them and ask them for a settlement. Don%26#039;t tell them how much you can pay just that you would like to know how much they would accept to get this paid in full. Once they tell you get it from them in writing either via fax or mail. Then pay it in full send it via certified mail so they have to sign for it. They should mark it as paid but it may take a little time. Keep all of the documentation in case a different collection company tries to collect on the same debt in the future.

Paying off a debt in collections on credit report...please read...?

Yes ... it%26#039;s possible and you are to bargain with them.

Rather, you must do it and the card co may be willing to keep you as their customer equally (this is a point of their weakness ...!!)

Be quick ... catch them. Best of luck.

Paying off a debt in collections on credit report...please read...?

You%26#039;d be better of trying to do a pay for delete. Paying it won%26#039;t help your credit that much, it is still a collection, paid or unpaid. click on the link for my source and get some great help on their forums

Paying off a debt in collections on credit report...please read...?

Kris is absolutely right, you need to do a pay for delete agreement or your credit score will not make any significant improvement.

I%26#039;d call them up and offer them 50% of the $1700 balance and negotiate from there. I%26#039;d just be firm with them and tell them you%26#039;re willing to pay the bill but NOT their outrageous interest. Depending on your state laws those interest rates might be illegal.

Chances are they%26#039;d be happy to accept even a good portion of the $1700, and I highly doubt they%26#039;ll put up much of a fight.

Paying off a debt in collections on credit report...please read...?

Your best bet is to not only ask for a settlement offer a lot of collection agencies will do this as any money is better than no money right? In addition to the settlement offer you should get a pay for delete agreement which is perfectly legal.

Paying off a debt in collections on credit report...please read...?

The answer would depend upon which state the creditor is located in. California laws are strange to say the least. The ability to collect interest lies in which state the creditor has legal precendence.

How old is the debt? It may be beyond Californias SOL

Written agreements: 4 years, calculated from the date of breach.

Oral agreements: 2 years.

The statute of limitation is stopped only if the debtor makes a payment on the account after the expiration of the applicable limitations period.

If the debt is beyond your states statue of limitations, then all they can do is ask for payment. They have no legal recourse to take you to court (the only debt that has no SOL is student loans).

Without futher information, it is hard to give you a proper answer.

I invite you to join the following Yahoo group %26quot;DontGetRippedOff%26quot; dedicated to helping those in financial trouble, Here you will find information to help you with debt collection agencies.

Paying off a debt in collections on credit report...please read...?

Call them and settle, it can go on your credit report, but you%26#039;ll be free of it which is important. I would call and talk to them, tell them you%26#039;d like to settle but wait to see what they come up with for a starting amount, when i have done this it has been less then my amount, so you never know. Then build up an emergency fund ($1000) then cancel the cards and be happy and debt free. When your debt free that leaves a lot of money free to build wealth!!!!!!!!!!!!

Has anyone ever tried to get a credit report online and could not because of info they were not awar

I tried to get a credit report online and questions popped up about mortages I know I do not have. So it asks questions about these mortages and because I don%26#039;t know the info it won%26#039;t let me get the report .

Has anyone ever tried to get a credit report online and could not because of info they were not aware of?

If you select %26quot;None of the above%26quot; and it insists that your have a mortgage on file, you may want to get to the bottom of it by contacting the bureau directly. This website has contact info (phone, mail, online) for all three bureaus: http://triceiver.com

This is just in case that someone stole your ID and applied for a loan, even though the more likely scenario is that the bureau simply made a mistake. Go to http://www.annualcreditreport.com , a government backed site, to get free credit reports from the other two and see if you have the same problem.

Has anyone ever tried to get a credit report online and could not because of info they were not aware of?

There should be an option that says none, if it doesnt apply to you.

Has anyone ever tried to get a credit report online and could not because of info they were not aware of?

what site did you use? many claim to be free and they are not. this one is, free once per year. try this one.

Has anyone ever tried to get a credit report online and could not because of info they were not aware of?

I%26#039;m going through the same thing right now. I used annual credit report.com. It was Equifax that wouldn%26#039;t allow me to get my credit report due to the questions about mortgages I know I don%26#039;t have. Since I%26#039;ve never applied for a mortgage and I was 16/17 when they claim I got a mortgage. You can call one of these numbers to put an initial fraud alert on your file just in case it is identity theft.It%26#039;ll last for 90 days while they investigate it.They might give you a free credit report. If not ask them to send you one. I only need to contact one to place the fraud alert since the one you call will contact the other two credit bureaus.

How do you dispute judgements on your credit report?

I have 2 judgements on my credit report that aren%26#039;t true. I am trying to clean up my credit without paying someone $700.00. Please help if you know anything about getting inquiries and other old accounts, and accounts that doesn%26#039;t belong to me.

How do you dispute judgements on your credit report?

In accordance to the Fair Reporting Act, you need to dispute the charges to the 3 major credit bureaus( Experian, Transunion, and Equifax). They are required to notify any entity that has placed a disputed claim. This is a little bit of a joke as the entity only has to respond that they have documentation proving sum is owed, but the credit reporting company will provide you with the information needed to rectify the problem.

Working with the courts is going to be difficult, but not impossible. To speed up the process you can hire an attorney, but it may cost more than the judgments themselves.

Hope this helps.

How do you dispute judgements on your credit report?

Here ya go:

How do you dispute judgements on your credit report?

From Visa Site:

How can I dispute a charge on my Visa card?

Our Member financial institutions issue cards and are responsible for all billing and account management inquiries. Visa has no access to, nor jurisdiction over, accounts.

We suggest you address your questions to the financial institution that issued your Visa card. You can contact them directly, using the address or telephone number on your Visa statement or on the back of your card.

How do you dispute judgements on your credit report?

You will have to contact the credit bureau. They have dispute forms you can fill and submit. My sister%26#039;s credit stuff was under mine for awhile and I didn%26#039;t know until I saw my credit report. If you dispute this the the credit bureaus, they will take care of the rest.

How do you dispute judgements on your credit report?

You can dispute all you want to. It won%26#039;t do any good. I know first hand. I disputed charges before they ever went on my credit report. They went on anyway. That%26#039;s what I love about America. Screw the poor.

How do you dispute judgements on your credit report?

You need to start with the company that you got the credit report from. They will then tell you the company that issued the judgment. They will then check in to it, but it will do no good. You will then have to contact the company yourself. This happened to me about 5 months ago. Someone used my identity to order $1000 worth from a company that I had ordered from about 15 years ago, but sent the merchandise to a state I had never lived in and they never paid the bill. A judgment was issued against me. I had to have a police report filed. I then mailed that police report to the company along with a theft identity loss affidavit and got it all cleared up. There were tons of paperwork. But it got done in about a months time. Good luck to you.

How do you dispute judgements on your credit report?

If there are errors on your credit report such as accounts that do not belong to you, just follow the dispute instructions for each credit bureau.

The judgments are different problem. You should check to see where the judgments were issued. Get a copy. You may have to go to court to get them reversed. You might even need an attorney.

Don%26#039;t bother wasting any money on a debt clean up company.

How do you negotiate delinquencies off your credit report?

Someone on here once wrote this. But has anyone ever done it:

%26quot;When you pay off your medical collections, before you send any checks to them you should try to negotiate the removal of these items from your report by the collection agencies. Get it in writing. Otherwise everything stays on for 7 years. That%26#039;s a long time to pay for youthful troubles. %26quot;

Say I pay off all my debts, can I ask each of them to remove the debt from my credit report? And how would having it in writing help?

How do you negotiate delinquencies off your credit report?

The debt will be removed if they want to remove it. Some collectors will advise you to pay in full than they will remove it and others will remove it with a settlement...than there are some that like being a$$holes and dont remove it either way. Be sure to get that in writing before you pay.

If they dont want to delete it...they really dont have to. They have the right to keep it on for 7 years. But they do have to update it according to how you paid them. %26quot;Paid in full collection account%26quot; or %26quot;settled in full collection account%26quot;.

And no it will not appear as just paid in full or settled in full. It will show that it was a collection account.

However, like I said...depends on who the collector is that your dealing with...they might just hook you up with a deletion...otherwise, if there going to be a$$holes about it...you really cant do anything.

TIP: Attempt to negotiate with bill collectors about 5 days before the end of the month. Thats when they are all frantic trying to make their quotes.

Good Luck

How do you negotiate delinquencies off your credit report?

the debt will not be taken off your credit report. they%26#039;ll list it as %26#039;paid%26#039;, but nothing more. once it%26#039;s on there, you can not take it off unless you can prove that is was mistakenly put on your report (for example, someone else%26#039;s debt put on your account by mistake).

How do you negotiate delinquencies off your credit report?

If it%26#039;s an old delinquency, the best thing to do is just to dispute it over and over again directly from the credit bureaus...they are bound to miss their deadline sooner or later.

If it is something you are negotiating payoff on, negotiate removal of credit line or at least all deliquency from your complete report AND GET IT IN WRITING before you pay it off.

Have I don%26#039;t either of these??? Yes, I%26#039;ve done both with great results.

How do you negotiate delinquencies off your credit report?

Let me assure you....it can be removed. I have helped many people do it!

The FACT is that the only person who can removed a negative item form your credit report is the person who put it there! There are no laws that demand that once an item is listed, it must remain. There is nothing in the credit bureau%26#039;s rules that prevent it. I%26#039;ve read it...not there!

So answers like Nonyab are just another example of ignorance!

What you do is negotiate with the creditor. At this point, he wants your money, so you have some leverage in the negoation.

DEMAND that once this debt is paid, they must delete the report. Get this in writing before you pay them a dime!

If they won%26#039;t agree...don%26#039;t pay it. What%26#039;s the point? DO NOT believe this nonsense that a paid debt looks better on your credit report then an unpaid debt. All they are required to do is show %26quot;paid%26quot; but all other information about late payments, collectios and charge-offs will still be there. Paying this debt does NOTHING to help your credit score.

Credit Item to be removed in September if I dont pay will it still stay on report?

Okay here is the deal. My husband has a collection that was is supposed to come off his credit report in september but the collections company is still asking for their money. If we dont pay them it will still come off anyway right? Or do they just leave it on his report??

Credit Item to be removed in September if I dont pay will it still stay on report?

Derogatory trade lines has to be removed after seven years. Collection companies can ask for %26quot;their%26quot; money indefinitely. There is, however, something called the Statute of Limitation. Collection Agencies have no legal way of collection old debts from you after the Statute of Limitation has past. It could be as little as three years in some states, and as many as six in others.

Credit Item to be removed in September if I dont pay will it still stay on report?

You need to write the collection agency a letter and write the credit bureaus a letter.

Credit Item to be removed in September if I dont pay will it still stay on report?

It stays on for seven years. After that, it does not matter how often they contact you, or who they sell the debt to, it does not get back on the Report.

They tried to pull this stuff on a truck my son gave up in a voluntary repo six months after he bought it. That was ten years ago. He still gets letters from collection agencies but it never shows up on his credit report.

If you do not intend to pay this bill just ignore them. Why did you not pay the bill?

Credit Item to be removed in September if I dont pay will it still stay on report?

It should still fall off in September if you DO NOT pay it or call them or write to them or contact them in any way. If you do, they can start the 7 years over again. So its better to not pay old collections even if it might not sound like the right thing to do. I think they do that so the honest people who really do want to pay their bills and do the right thing but can%26#039;t, end up having it start over and over therefore they have more time to get their money.

Can obsolete items be removed from a credit report a couple of months early?

My credit report shows an old delinquency that is due to expire in April under the 7-year rule. Is there any way that I can get this removed by the credit bureaus 2 months early or do I have to wait for an exact date and time?

Can obsolete items be removed from a credit report a couple of months early?

It is usually 7 years and 180 days from the last activity date. You have to wait until it drops off automatically. You can contact the three credit bureaus by registered letter asking them about exact date it will drop off.

Can obsolete items be removed from a credit report a couple of months early?

You can always try, but unless it is invalid information it won%26#039;t come off. You may want to verify that the date of delinquency they have is the one you show. If you can show that they are 4 months off then it would be a vaild dispute.

Now, the somewhat good news is that a record this old is having a very minimal effect on your score. The way the scoring sytems work is give more weight to recent items. So depending on what this was you may not even see a change in your score when it does come off.

Can obsolete items be removed from a credit report a couple of months early?

Is it reporting 100% correctly? Is it exactly the same on all 3 national reports? It can%26#039;t hurt to send a request to each of the CRAs (like TransUnion..) and ask them to verify the account. If it comes back verified you can request they send you method of verification. If a collection agency has it listed send them a validation request. Quite often you can find at least a small mistake like an incorrect charge-off date. Handwrite your letters on colored paper, keep copies and send the ones to the collection agency CMRRR and don%26#039;t %26quot;sign%26quot; your name simply print it. Don%26#039;t do the work for them either....it%26#039;s their job to put the correct information on your reports or delete it.

Can obsolete items be removed from a credit report a couple of months early?

The CRA will not remove them early unless the creditor tells them to do so. Unless you file a dispute and the creditor don%26#039;t respond, the debts are so old chances are good that they may not respond.

How do I find out who reported on my credit report?

There are unpaid medical bills on my credit report. I am willing to pay but the only information is an amount, and it also says %26quot;Medical Payment Data.%26quot; I want to pay this debt but I don%26#039;t know how to find out who to pay.

How do I find out who reported on my credit report?

If you have an %26quot;official%26quot; credit report, then the contact information for the lender should be on the report. If you have any questions, then the credit reporting agency should be able to tell you the contact information.

Note* if the item is being collected by a collections agency, then DO NOT PAY THEM. You%26#039;ll pay out more in the long run. Contact them (from the info on the report), find out who the original bill was from, and then tell them to cease and desist verbally, then send them a letter (sample cease and desist letters: www.budhibbs.com). Then contact the original account holder and pay them (THEY WILL TAKE YOUR MONEY!)

Good Luck!

p.s. If you didn%26#039;t get an %26quot;official%26quot; credit report, you can get one per calendar year from www.annualcreditreport.com from each of the three main credit bureaus. I would suggest spacing them out by obtaining one report from one agency, then another from a different agency four months later. That way you can have an idea of what your credit looks like all year round.

I had found some errors on my credit report?

I found these errors and disputed them with all 3 Agencys a month later I received a letter from them stating the were removed and deleted. I checked my report sure enough they were removed. I since have gotten privacy matters that alerts you when something new happens to your credit report. well 2 months pass and i get an alert, When I checked it the deleted account has been added again. My ?? is can they do this. Do I have to dispute this all over again ?

I had found some errors on my credit report?

Someone may have stolen your identity and is adding things to your credit report without your knowledge. Sorry, but you will indeed have to dispute it again.

I had found some errors on my credit report?

The simplest answer is depending on the type of dispute and how long it as been on your report yes they can do it if the company provide proof to the credit bureau that the debt was valid. What you need to do now is dispute it with the company first and then provide a correctly stated dispute letter along with any proof to the credit bureau.

I had found some errors on my credit report?

Yes, dispute the derog again. Do you have documentation from the initial disputes? If yes, then present that. The creditor has up to 45 days to verify that the debt is yours. Unfortunately, creditors can put an item back if they prove that the item is actually yours after an item is deleted. That is why it%26#039;s important to keep ALL documentation you have from the time you first initially dispute the item.

I had found some errors on my credit report?

You need to understand that the credit reporting agencies only collect the information and report what is given to them. They do not verify that the information is correct. They are also months behind in posting this information.

So if in January they remove the items from your credit report they will receive new information from creditors for January. However, this information may not get posted until March. Unless, the original creditor removes it from their system, it will get added back into your credit report.

You need to dispute it with the original creditor and get it removed from their system, then get if removed from your credit report with the credit reporting agencies.

I had found some errors on my credit report?

sorry but yes, u have to dispute it once again
